A unique opportunity to be together renewing friendships, facing the challenge of building trust and peace beyond borders and gaining an insight into the Spirituality of the Focolare movement
Focolare is an international movement which seeks to build a united world, taking its inspiration from Jesus’ prayer: “May they all be one” (Jn 17:21). Founded by Chiara Lubich, it began during the Second World War in the North of Italy and since then has spread to over a hundred countries. It involves people of all creeds and none. More information can be found on the website.
During our weekend together we want to build a culture of trust and peace to bring back to our institutions, our local neighbourhoods, our homes, our faith communities.
We want to be a springboard for positive initiatives in local areas whereby people can work together to serve those who are most isolated, most on the margins of their communities.
Join us for a weekend of talks, personal testimonies and sharing on how we can all be dreamers and doers for our communities today.
Keynote speaker: Brian Rowan – journalist, author and broadcaster. He was the BBC security editor until 2005 and reported on the major developments in the transition from conflict to peace. He has written several books on that process, the latest Unfinished Peace, published by Colourpoint Books.
