Christian Aid and International Justice Mission have joined to host an evening of storytelling, song, photography and film, exploring the theme of gender–based violence both in Northern Ireland and around the world.
The event takes place during the UN Women 16–days of activism against Violence Against Women and will be part of the programme of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Festival.
Speakers include Rosamond Bennett (CEO of Christian Aid Ireland) and Josephine Aparo from IJM Uganda and the discussion will be chaired by Jude Hill from UTV.
Live music will be provided by Hannah McPhilimy.
The event will include a photo exhibition featuring stories of our work around the world, such as this partner from Brazil.
Reverend Elinede Ferreira de Oliveira lives in Ariquemes, Brazil. Moved by the domestic violence she witnessed against her own sister she now runs the only safe house in the entire state through Christian Aid partner SADD (Anglican Service on Diakonia and Development).
