Dr Niall Coll, who has served on the Irish Inter–Church Committee for several years, has been appointed by Pope Francis as the next Bishop of the diocese of Ossory.

Dr Coll is currently priest in the parishes of Donegal (Tawnawilly) and Clar in the Diocese of Raphoe. Previously he was Professor of Religious Studies and Religious Education at St Mary’s University College, Belfast.

His fellow members of the Irish Inter–Church Committee and the Irish Council of Churches congratulate him and assure him of their prayers as he takes up his new responsibilities.
